Vision for Grady County Schools
We envision a Grady County School system where students
enjoy learning, where educators enjoy teaching,
and where the community is involved.
Expectations are high. Everyone pulls together to ensure
individual goals, school goals, and system goals are achieved.
Our students excel, and our schools are a source of pride for our community.
There is a high level of mutual trust among community,
Board of Education,superintendent, administrators,
teachers, support staff and students.
Conflict and frustration occur. They are part of the improvement process,
and are addressed by authentic dialogue,
mutual respect for differing opinions,
revisiting core values and goals, and consensus.
A dark assumption that we too often hold:
We can not change things, so we must live our lives
reacting to forces outside our control.
We propose an alternative to this vicious assumption:
In Grady County Schools, we will operate based on
possibility and not on resignation.
We can create the future into which we will live, as
opposed to merely reacting to it when we get there.
UNTIL ONE IS COMMITTED THERE IS HESITANCY,
THE CHANCE TO DRAW BACK, ALWAYS INEFFECTIVENESS.
CONCERNING ALL ACTS OF INITIATIVE
THERE IS ONE ELEMENTARY TRUTH, THE IGNORANCE
OF WHICH KILLS COUNTLESS IDEAS AND
SPLENDID PLANS:
THE MOMENT ONE DEFINITELY COMMITS ONESELF,
THEN PROVIDENCE MOVES TOO.
